CAPTAIN OF OPERATIONS
SALARY RANGE: $60K-$70K/YEAR

The Camden Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Captain of Operations. The Captain of Operations will be responsible for leading the department in the absences of the Chief of Police, daily operations of the Patrol Division and the Investigative Services Division, conducting internal affairs investigations, development and maintenance of all departmental policy and procedures, and all other duties necessary to assist the Chief of Police in overall management of the department. He/she will answer directly to the Chief of Police and will be the immediate supervisor of the Lieutenant of Patrol and the Lieutenant of Investigations. We are seeking a SCCJA Class I Certified applicant who has a minimum of 10 years law enforcement service with supervisory experience in both patrol and investigations. A bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.

Under general supervision, is responsible for the fair and equal enforcement of all local and state ordinances and laws. Ensures and participates in the enforcement of traffic laws and regulations to include investigating traffic accidents, ensuring safety of streets and sidewalks, directing traffic at various public events, operating various related equipment, etc. Reports to the Sergeant, Shift Supervisor.
Project Engineer/GIS Specialist
City of Camden Public Works is looking for a Project Engineer/GIS Specialist to assist in the overall management, planning and direction of construction projects and related engineering activities. Will assist City personnel in the Public Works Department and other departments to include garage, parks, traffic control, streets, storm water management, sanitation, recycling, water, wastewater, electric, building inspections and planning. Duties will also include providing daily management of the City’s GIS and field data collection. Reports to the Deputy Director of Public Works. Requires Bachelor’s degree in engineering, GIS or related field with a minimum 4 years’ experience in public works/utilities operations and/or civil engineering or construction inspection, and GIS/GPS operation. However, a combination of education and significant other relevant experience will also be considered. A South Carolina Registered Professional Engineer is preferred, but not required.
