Our electric system consists of the distribution and sale of retail electric service to approximately 9,350 customers. Our electric service area encompasses all property within the city limits and several adjacent and unincorporated areas in Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties. Consisting of approximately 650 miles of electric lines, our electric service also includes three electrical substations which are connected by fiber optic cable. For more information, click here.
Our water system consists of the withdrawal of raw water, treatment of raw water and the distribution finished potable water to approximately 6,900 customers. We also furnish wholesale water by contract to Cassatt Water Company. Our water service area encompasses all property within the city limits and immediately surrounding areas. We have over 166 miles of water mains and transmission lines ranging from 0.75 inch to 36 inches in diameter. Our wastewater system provides the collection, treatment and disposal of wastewater for over 3,950 customers. Our sewer service area encompasses all property within the city limits and two miles east along Hwy # 1. We have over 84 Miles of gravity lines, 10.94 miles of sewer forcemain and lift stations. Parks and Streets
The parks department maintains many city parks, much of Historic Camden, and cuts approximately 1,000 acres of grass. It is also responsible for line painting, striping and making of street and roadway signs. For more information, visit our parks page.
