45th Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes
The premiere event of the season, explore historic homes and landmarks in all their holiday splendor on this self-guided tour in and around Camden. Explore each location in great detail, in person or virtually!
The 45th Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes celebrates the Southern hospitality that Camden is known for, all to benefit the children of Kershaw County. Sponsored by the Camden Junior Welfare League.
Sites for guests to explore in person on the day of the Candlelight Tour of Homes include the Bock Estate, Louise C. Proctor Hall, the Lofts on Broad, above the recently restored Broad & Vine, and the Payette Home in Lugoff, known to be one of the oldest homes in Kershaw County. Two additional sites, including the iconic Aberdeen, can be seen on the virtual Candlelight Tour, which will be available to all ticket holders all weekend long. Tour guests will find the password to the virtual tour in their Tour programs. Online ticket holders will also receive an email the day before the Tour begins.
Tickets may be purchased here or at the Camden Archives & Museum, 1314 Broad Street, and The Edge of Broad Street, 938 Broad Street. Tickets are $20 each in advance. Tour tickets and programs will be available on the day of the event at the Camden Archives and Museum, the Tour’s “first stop”, for $25. There will be an “express lane” on Laurens Court for Tour attendees who have purchased tickets in advance to drive through, receive a program, and continue on to other featured Tour locations. The Candlelight Tour of Homes begins at 3:00 pm on December 11th, with all sites available until 9:00 pm.
This year’s hospitality site, the historic Thomas House on West DeKalb Street, will include complimentary refreshments and a visit with Santa. For the safety of guests, homeowners, and volunteers, face coverings will be required at all sites.
