Ag + Art Tour Returns to Kershaw County June 2 & 3

Visitors and residents alike will have the opportunity to experience firsthand where their food comes from, meet real farmers, watch artists in action, and event purchase something special,  when the 2018 South Carolina Ag + Art Tour returns to comes to Kershaw County Saturday and Sunday June 2nd and 3rd.

New this year is Quite Content Farm located in Camden near the Kendall Mill.  This “urban farm” is a large vegetable garden farmed with a collection of vintage Farmall tractors. They will have beehives, honey, chicken tractors, purple Martin gourds, colonial style snake rail fencing, whirligigs, and handmade spoons! Tour farm sites in Kershaw County June 2 and 3 include the following:

Quite Contact Farm / 104 E. Hampton Street, Camden – Featuring water colorists Dr. Alice Brooks and Mrs. Patricia Johnstone painting on site and with art and gift cards for sale. Americana musician Jeff Clark entertaining from 1-5 pm both Saturday and Sunday. Sweets and drinks (all veggie related of course) will be available.

Old McCaskill's Farm / 377 Cantey Lane, Rembert (Saturday only) – featuring Ashley's homemade prepared meals, farm fresh meats, 100% woolen products and other goodies.

Goat Daddy's Farm / 144 Tomahawk Trail, Elgin – featuring “Xquisitely Designed” glitter stemware and unique signage with snarky sayings by Vanessa Thenya Bonduranture and artisan Cindy Strickland with her painted barn quilt art.         

Kershaw County Farmers Market / 906 Broad Street, Camden (Saturday until Noon only) – featuring growers, artisans, and more.

Also enjoy the “Ag + Art Walk” taking place in Camden, featuring The Artist Attic at 930 Broad Street; Rutledge Street Gallery at 508 Rutledge Street; and Northlight Studio at 607 Rutledge Street.

The Ag + Art Tour is the nation’s largest free self-guided farm tour featuring local artisans and farmers markets, and this is the third year Kershaw County is participating.
