QUEST FOR QUASI Audition information – Arts Center of Kershaw County Grades: 2-8 When Red Riding Hood wins a date with Quasimodo, the famous Hunchback of Notre Dame, on “The Dating Game,” she has a hunch she may have found the man of her dreams. But all this changes when the Wicked Witch of the West breaks up their date at McDonald’s and demands three items of power from Red — the sword in the stone, Captain Hook’s hook and the Blue Fairy’s wand. Red has only 24 hours to acquire the said articles while Quasi is held hostage in the Wicked Witch’s castle. Will Red get her hunch back? Will the Wicked Witch keep her end of the bargain? And if not, can Red and Quasi figure out a way to outwit her and end her wicked reign once and for all? Lots of humor, mad-cap action and recognizable characters inhabit this delightful, fractured fairy tale with a new twist, perfect for all ages! Audition Dates: Monday, January 17 Tuesday, January 18 6:00-8:00 PM You may not need to stay the entire time. You need only attend one night of auditions. There are potential callbacks later in the week TBD. Performance dates: March 24-27 Tech Week – Mandatory Starts March 20/21 Rehearsals: Rehearsals are generally 3-5 days per week depending on the part. Not everyone will have to be at every rehearsal, but will be called according to what scene is being rehearsed. What to prepare: Bring your energy and a loud clear voice. We will have fun. Bring any conflicts that you know of for the period of January 16 – March 27. Seeking the Following Roles: PUSS IN BOOTS - host of “The Dating Game” RED RIDING HOOD - sweet, brave, loving BIG BAD WOLF - charmingly smarmy Austin Powers type PRINCE CHARMING - the ultimate egotist QUASIMODO (QUASI) - hunchback with a heart of gold CINDERELLA - caustic, bitter; works at McDonald’s ALADDIN - still waiting for the genie to return; manager at McDonald’s WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST - evil, greedy, slightly insane FAIRY GODMOTHERS 1, 2 & 3 - well-meaning, but on the simple-minded side KNIGHT - arrogant DAMSEL - upbeat, a little vacant CAPTAIN HOOK - sick of Tinker Bell TINKER BELL - crazy about Hook now that n/a Peter likes Wendy SMEE - Hook’s first mate5 BLUE FAIRY - not as sweet as we thought PINOCCHIO - still a puppet, but trying to become a real boy QUASI, JR. - spitting image of Dad RED, JR. - spitting image of Mom, but with Dad’s hum
