Expect a wide range of cover songs cleverly sprinkled with familiar-sounding original works. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, beer and wine allowed on Town Green during the concert. BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket!) or lawn chair and enjoy some free live music on a fantastic fall evening!
Leading this quartet of talented South Carolina-based musicians, Gabriel (Gabe) Lopez is well known throughout the region. He sang lead vocals and played acoustic guitar for regional touring band S-Tribe, before relocating to Austin, Texas, for a year to explore the Austin City music scene. Upon returning later in 2008, Lopez banded with drummer Larry Gornto (S-Tribe, Captain Easy, Patrick Davis, and Tokyo Joe), bassist Mike Mills (The Casual Kings, Treadmill Trackstar, Pimp Dragon), and guitarist Charles Funk (S-Tribe, The South, J-Edwards, Black Iron Gathering, JJ-Lawhorn (Nashville, TN). The four friends wrote, recorded, and produced original music at Echo Mountain Recording Studio in Asheville, NC, under the band name Moving Mercury. Gabriel Lopez & Friends are excited to resume performing live music once again, as are thousands of bands and musicians after more than a year’s halt in entertainment bookings due to the pandemic. Gabriel Lopez actively performs throughout South Carolina as either a solo artist, duo acoustic unit Lopez & Funk, or his full electric band. Expect a wide range of cover songs cleverly sprinkled with familiar-sounding original works.
