Migration and Home Ties

The Kershaw County Historical Society welcomes Dr. Janette Greenwood of Clark University in Worcester, MA as the main speaker for their program, "Migration and Home Ties". The program includes a presentation of photographs of African Americans who had migrated to Massachusetts, many from Camden. These images, owned by Frank Morrill of Worcester, were part of a recent exhibit at the Worcester Art Museum titled "Rediscovering an American Community of Color: The Photographs of William Bullard, 1897-1917." Dr. Greenwood hopes to learn more about the historical and genealogical connections between the two cities while she is in Camden.
