Annual Christmas Tree Lighting is December 1st

Join in on the official start of the holiday season in Camden, with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall, 1000 Lyttleton Street.  As in years past, the event will include holiday music featuring an ensemble from the Camden Community Concert Band and members of the Camden Elementary School Choir. Mayor Alfred Mae Drakeford will then “throw the switch” to light the tree. And don’t forget the annual visit from the man in red!

The Tree Lighting Ceremony kicks off the “12 Days of Christmas”, highlighting community events taking place in and around Camden between December 1st and 12th. New this year is “Christmas Wonderland in Camden,” an array of activities taking place all around downtown Camden on Saturday, December 3rd. Activities will include photos with Santa and The Grinch, milk and cookies with the Elf, strolling carolers, an outdoor hot chocolate bar, a build your own snowman station, dance performances and face painting, and much more. A full schedule of activities for the day can be found online at www.classicallycarolina.com/12days
