Artists Need for Upcoming Downtown Alley Installation

Call for Artist Submissions: "Kites in the Alley"

The Downtown Camden program and the Arts Center of Kershaw County invite artists to submit their ideas and designs for the upcoming installation of art in the alleyway connecting Downtown’s Broad Street to the Town Green. This installation will feature preformed kites and will require designs to be submitted in advance. Though not required, artists are encouraged to consider the following themes: education, business, environment, history, animals, recreation, sports, health and wellness, as they relate to Camden and/or Kershaw County. 

Submission forms can be downloaded here or picked up at the Arts Center box office during regular hours. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 14, 2020 at 5:00 pm. Artists will be notified as to whether their designs have been accepted no later than March 2, 2020. Artists will then be able to pick up their kites at the Arts Center, at 810 Lyttleton Street and return completed kites by Friday, March 13, 2020, to ensure installation in the alleyway. For additional information or questions, please call Leslie Lee at the Arts Center (803-425-7676) or Katharine Spadacenta (803-549-5648).
