Boil Water Advisory Repeal for Customers in and around the Big Lots (Old K-Mart) Shopping Center
The City of Camden advises its water customers located in the above area, that they no longer need to boil their water. On December 13th, 2017, results from laboratory testing indicate the water on this system is safe to drink and use for other purposes without the need for boiling.
The precautionary Advisory issued December 12th was generated due to a nearby water line break caused by an AT&T contractor working on a construction project. Following the repair, City staff flushed water lines and collected water samples in accordance with SCDHEC requirements for the above referenced laboratory testing.
We apologize for any inconvenience regarding the return to normal conditions and appreciate the cooperation from our customers. Again the Boil Water Advisory issued December 12th, which was issued as a matter of precaution only, for the above listed area has been lifted. Should you have any questions, please contact the City of Camden Public Works office at (803) 425-6045 or SCDHEC at (803) 778-1531.
