The Chotty Trail - Newest Connector of the Palmetto Trail Unveiled in Camden

Dr. Tom Mullikin of Global Eco-Adventures and South Carolina 7, along with Camen Mayor Alfred Mae Drakeford, Palmetto Conservation Foundation's Furman Miller and other dignitaries, cut the ribbon on "The Chotty Trail" on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

The Chotty Trail is a new 3.5-mile Palmetto Trail Connector passing along historic sites in Camden, ending at the Historic Camden Foundation and Simply Revolutionary War Vistor Center campus.

The ribbon cutting was part of a day-long "Classic Souther Summer's Day" celebration that included kayaking down a portion of the Wateree River to the Camden Riverfront Environmental Park, where the start of the Chotty Trail is located, ending with a social at the Revolutionary War Visitor Center, featuring music by the Sawgrass Bluegrass Band.
