Citizens Planning College 2015-2016 Accepting Applications
The City of Camden is proud to present the 2nd annual Citizens Planning College, a program that will teach the “ins and outs” of city planning as it pertains to Camden. Each class in the program is devoted to topics taught by the Planning Staff and/or a special guest speaker that specializes in the area of study.
The course curriculum is as follows:
October 22, 2015 History and Demographics
October 29, 2015 Comprehensive Planning
November 5, 2015 Intro to Zoning Code & Zoning Districts
November 12, 2015 Specific sections of zoning ordinance
November 19, 2015 City Council, Boards and Commissions
January 7, 2016 Special Topics
January 14, 2016 Land Development Regulations
January 21, 2016 Transportation Planning
January 28, 2016 Flood Plains / Open Space & Parks
February 4, 2016 Low Impact Development
Like a regular academic year, the first 5 classes will be held in the Fall of 2015 and the remaining 5 classes will be in the Spring of 2016 (see dates above). The class will meet at City Hall in the Training Room from 5:30pm – 7:00pm on Thursdays. Certificates of Achievement will be awarded to each of our graduates after the program is completed.
