City welcomes new Hampton Inn
Hotel group Kali, Inc. and the city of Camden jointly announce that the city’s newest hotel, Hampton Inn by Hilton, will open Saturday, June 1. Conveniently located at 122 Wall Street in the city’s primary hotel district at Exit 98 at the I-20/Hwy 521 interchange, the much awaited Hampton Inn Camden will open its doors following 16 months of construction. Owned and developed by Kali, Inc., Hampton Inn Camden features 70 rooms and offers travelers “valued-added amenities with the spirit of Hamptonality,” according to Vice President Deep Patel. “At Hampton Inn by Hilton Camden, guests will have a worry-free stay with comfortable spaces that are intuitively designed to feel familiar and inviting,” Patel said.
Described by Hilton as “the global upper-midscale brand known for its commitment to providing unmatched guest service,” the new hotel features polished, contemporary rooms with flat-screen TVs, a mini fridge, coffeemakers and microwaves, as well as an ironing board and iron. Sofa beds are also available in king-bed-sized rooms so a family of four can comfortably share a room.”
Complimentary perks include parking, an indoor temperature controlled pool and outdoor patio, a 24-hour fitness center with flat-screen wall and equipment loaded TVs. “Every Hampton by Hilton guest gets free, hot breakfast with healthy options,” Patel added, “including On-the-Run breakfast bags, and free WiFi in every room.”
According to Suzi Sale, the city’s tourism and economic development director, Camden is growing as a dynamic destination and location for leisure and business travelers. “Over the past three years, there has been significant leakage of our room nights into markets outside of Camden. The addition of this hotel is very positive for us, and we believe the new Hampton Inn will help us keep up with the growth we are experiencing.”
“There has been excellent collaboration between the city and Kali, Inc. to bring this new product online,” said Patel. “We are extremely proud to continue to invest in this community, which has been so good to us.” Hampton Inn Camden will employ a staff of more than 20 local residents. Hotel group Kali, Inc., which also owns Camden’s Comfort Inn & Suites and the Holiday Inn Express, is an employer of more than 60 local residents.
