New Playground Equipment Installed at Kirkwood Park

Mayor Alfred Mae Drakeford was joined by Camden City Council and staff, members of the Camden Parks and Trees Commission, State Representative Laurie Funderburk, State Senator Vincent Sheheen, citizens of the Kirkwood Community as she cut the ribbon on a new playground system at Kirkwood Park, 192 Stowers Street. The replacement of existing equipment and swings at Kirkwood is part of a continued effort to update playground and recreational amenities throughout the City of Camden, in order to promote a healthy lifestyle for residents of all ages. The new equipment was purchased with the help of a SC Park and Recreation Development Fund grant, with the endorsement of both State Representative Laurie Funderburk and State Senator Vincent Sheheen.
