Small Business Workshops to Resume at Camden Library Branch
The Camden Main Street Program will hold another series of small business workshops in person this winter at the Camden branch of the Kershaw County Library. For this series, the Main Street Program will partner with the Small Business Development Center of Columbia. Two of the four workshops scheduled will be led by SBDC representatives. Main Street Manager Kat Spadacenta will lead two other workshops for small business owners and any member of the public wishing to attend. The Camden Main Street Program is a certified Google Partner.
Workshops will be held on alternate Tuesdays – January 10, January 24, February 14 and February 28, at the Camden Library Branch, 1304 Broad Street.
January 10, 6:00-7:00 pm - Get Your Business Online - If you’re curious about bringing your existing business online, or you’re just starting a business and want to know where to begin, it all starts with a domain, a professional website, and digital contacts. Learn the benefits of owning a domain, helpful web terms to know, and how to get the most out of your online presence. Bring a laptop or tablet. This Grow with Google workshop is presented by Main Street Manager and Google Partner Kat Spadacenta.
January 24, 6:00-7:00 pm - Let’s Start a Business - Do you have an idea for a business? Have a hobby or side venture that you think could be profitable? Join the Main Street program and presenter Bob Jones from the SBDC to learn the steps to starting a successful business. Find out what resources are available and what best practices to follow when starting a business. Registration recommended, but not required. February 14, 5:30 -7:00 pm - Microloans: Funding Resources for Rural Microentrepreneurs - Join SBDC Business Consultant Jim Johnson for this 90 minute training event and learn about the rural microloans program for your small business. Learn how to obtain microloan funding, resources for rural funding, including loans and grants, and financial management best practices. Registration recommended, but not required. February 28, 6:00-7:00 pm - Increase Sales with Google Tools – Explore new Google tools that allow local brick-and-mortar businesses to list their products for free on Google. Learn how to highlight products on a Google Business Profile, use Pointy to promote in-store inventory with your point of sale system, use Google Merchant Center to showcase in-store and online product inventory, and more.
