Traffic and Parking Announcement Related to Community Events & Fundraisers September 22

In an effort to prevent confusion and alleviate concerns regarding the use of free public parking on Downtown streets and around Town Green, the City of Camden would like to alert residents regarding the events that will affect traffic and parking throughout Camden this Saturday, September 22.

The right northbound lane of Broad Street from Bull Street to Greene Street will be closed and parking will be restricted in the hours leading up to and during the Revolutionary Run Half Marathon and 5K event. The right eastbound lane of East DeKalb Street from Broad Street to Fair Street will be closed and parking will be restricted in the hours leading up to and during the event as well. Traffic signs, cones and police personnel will be on hand to help direct vehicle traffic.

Bull Street from Broad Street to Market Street will be closed for the Revolutionary Run Half Marathon and 5K event, beginning at approximately 5 AM.

Many residential streets in throughout Campbell Street Corridor, Colonial District, Hobkirk’s Hill, Rectory Square, and Hampton Park are included in the half marathon course, which is identical to last year’s route, and the new 5K course. While no residential streets will be completely closed during the event, we ask that motorists be aware of runners/walkers and please drive with caution through the affected neighborhoods during the morning hours on Saturday. You can find the course map at www.revrunsc.com.

All roads should be clear of Revolutionary Run participants by 12 pm.

Also on Saturday, September 22, Town Green public parking will be restricted in preparation for and during the Jam for the Soul concert taking place on the Town Green.

City staff thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during these community events. If you have any questions, please call City Hall at 803-432-2421.
