On Thursday, September 22, 2022 the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit will arrive at the Camden City Arena, 420 Broad Street, and will be open to the public Friday, September 23 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to ensuring that we never forget what happened on September 11th, 2001. Since 2013, the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit has traveled the country, educating Americans about what happened that day. Tours are conducted by retired New York City Firefighters who responded on September 11, 2001. They share their stories of what happened that day and the days after, bringing history to life for those who were born after September 11th or are too young to remember it. The 83-foot tractor-trailer transforms into a 1,100 square foot exhibit which features World Trade Center Steel, aluminum façade from the buildings, radio transmissions from first responders, and items found in the rubble after the Twin Towers collapsed.
The Camden Fire Department is honored to bring the exhibit to Camden, and the exhibit will be open to the public during the 26th Annual Fire Fest at the City Arena on September 24. The public is invited to be in attendance for the arrival of the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit at approximately 1:20 pm on Thursday, September 22 at the Camden City Arena, 420 Broad Street in Camden. The exhibit will arrive via I-20 westbound, exit 98, and will be escorted by Kershaw County first responders from Black River Road and U.S. 521 up to the City Arena. The exhibit will be open to the public from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 23 and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 24. There will be a check presentation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation during Fire Fest on Saturday at the exhibit. The check represents the proceeds raised from the recent 9/11 Walk of Remembrance from Lugoff Fire Station to Camden Fire Station I on Saturday, September 10.
Tunnel to Towers Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that we NEVER FORGET the legacy of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit is instrumental in bringing the events of that day to life for those who were born after the events of that tragic day.
