Where's Fire Pup?

The 22nd Annual FireFest returns to Camden City Arena on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

But before the first responders gather for demonstrations and competitions, among other family-friendly activities, the Camden Fire Department needs your help!

Fire Pup has been spotted hanging out at 10 Downtown Camden locations. If you can spot him, and get your Fire Pup Hunt card stamped, you are in for a treat when you turn it in at Camden Fire Station 1, next to City Hall.

Pick up Fire Pup Hunt cards at Fire Station 1, or download your own here.

Camden FireFest begins Saturday, September 30th at 9 am with a parade of new and antique fire trucks and emergency vehicles from City Hall down Rutledge and Broad Streets, featuring Richland County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Danny Brown as a special guest. Lt. Brown and other Richland County Sheriff’s deputies have made headlines this year due to the new A&E television series “Live PD.”

Activities at the City Arena will begin at approximately 9:30 am and will include a chance to meet Lt. Brown. Families can also enjoy adult firefighter and junior Explorer competitions, a giant Kids Zone, a car cruise-in, fly-in of a LifeNet helicopter and more than 50 vendors with crafts, services and food participating until 1 pm.

FireFest is always held the last Saturday of September to kick off National Fire Safety Month in October and National Fire Prevention Week, which begins Sunday, October 8 this year. For more information visit www.facebook.com/camdenfirefest.
